Supervision
I am an HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist with British Psychological Society (BPS)-approved training in clinical supervision. I offer short-term and long-term supervision to qualified professionals.
I specialise in working with children and young people, ADHD and autism, gender identity, with a wealth of experience working within the neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ communities.
I am a Full Member of the BPS (FMBPsS) and a recognised Gender Specialist, with professional affiliations including WPATH, EPATH and BAGIS.
My supervision approach
My approach incorporates the following three functions, based on Proctor’s three function model of supervision.
Formative function (Learning)
Developing the skills, abilities and understandings of the supervisee.Restorative function (Support)
Exploring how the supervisee responds emotionally to the stresses of the work.Normative function (Accountability)
Maintaining and ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the supervisee’s practice work.
How much time is dedicated to each of these aspects will vary session to session depending on your professional needs, and your clinical work.
To fulfil these functions, I utilise aspects of several supervision models, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) supervision models, solution-focused supervision, and others. These are in line with my CBT-informed, integrative clinical practice.
