Therapy FAQs
-
Therapy is charged at £110 per 50 minute session
-
There is no pre-specified amount, and I will be happy to tailor my approach to suit your needs.
I recommend that we see each other weekly, and will discuss your circumstances and capacity during the first session. Therapy is not a process that can be rushed, and I will work with you for as long as you need my support. That said, I believe the goal of therapy should be to provide the tools and support for you to be able to move forwards without regular sessions when you are ready.
There is no requirement to commit to a set number of sessions, and I will always try my best to accommodate around your schedule.
-
I aim to build a positive therapeutic relationship founded upon understanding and appreciation for the individual person and their circumstances. This enables me to work effectively in highly individualised, collaborative and creative ways to benefit clients.
My therapeutic work is rooted in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) but as an integrative therapist I am able to draw on a number of different models and flexibly adapt my approach to meet the particular needs of individual clients.
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) works with the underlying assumption that the way we think affects how we act and feel. People can interpret the same event in many different ways leading to a variety of emotional and behavioural responses. The theory of CBT proposes that negative thoughts and beliefs play a significant role in the development and maintenance of conditions such as depression, anxiety or low self esteem.
CBT involves examining any unhelpful thought patters and exploring how they can affect our emotions and actions.
Therefore being able to challenge these beliefs by weighing up the evidence for and against them can assist a person in reducing their distress and enhancing their ability to cope in everyday life situations. CBT aims to help you develop your own skills and own tool box of strategies. Whilst this kind of therapy can involve looking at past experiences in our lives, it primarily focuses on ways to improve our psychological wellbeing now.
-
I try to be flexible and work around your schedule where possible but, for cancellations where less than 24hrs notice is given, 100% of the session fee will be charged.
-
If you are considering the possibility of covering the cost of your therapy sessions and/or ADHD assessment via to your healthcare insurance, please note I am registered as a provider with Aviva, AXA, Bupa, Cigna, Vitality and WPA. You will need to contact your insurance to authorise the sessions.
ADHD FAQs
-
In order to minimise costs for clients, the diagnostic process is split into two parts:
Stage One (Screening) costs £400. This includes all correspondence with the clinic at any point during working hours, any short phone calls or check-ins, a copy of the QbCheck results as well as immediate feedback of the outcome of the initial assessment.
Stage Two (Assessment) costs £800. This includes analysis of all questionnaire data, conducting the parent appointment, the cost of the full diagnostic report as well as all correspondence with the clinic at any point during working hours, any short phone calls or check-ins.
Please note, the cost of both stages needs to be settled prior to the appointment taking place, at the stage of booking.
-
I currently have good availability to conduct assessments, and am usually able to commence the first stage appointment within 2-4 weeks of enquiry. This allows time for you to complete the necessary intake paperwork prior to the initial appointment, as it’s important you provide as full and detailed a picture as possible.
Having made your enquiry, you will receive an email detailing next steps, including an appointment booking link. This allows you to view all available appointment times and schedule in a time and date that work best for you.

Following diagnosis, you may wish to seek medical treatment through the NHS. Whilst I am an accredited psychotherapist licensed to screen for and diagnosis ADHD in both adults and children, I am a private provider — I therefore advise all my clients to discuss their options with their GP before seeking private assessment.
ADHD medications are controlled drugs, and only medical specialists with appropriate training can prescribe them. You might have to continue to see a psychiatrist privately until the medication is stabilised before your GP can take over prescribing. Not all GPs are happy to continue prescribing, so it is advised to discuss this before.
Please also consider the NICE Guidelines regarding medication for ADHD.

I offer both in-person appointments at my Hove practice, and online appointments via video call. You can choose whichever option works best for you, though in-person is recommended.
My practice is located at: Kingsway House, 134 Church Road, Brighton & Hove, BN3 2DL.

Depending on your policy the cost of the assessment might be covered by your insurance. I am a registered provider with several insurance companies, including: Aviva, AXA, Bupa, Cigna, Vitality, and WPA.
Please get in touch if you have spoken to your provider and the require any additional information.
-
Cancellations of appointments do not incur any charge if cancelled with 72 hours or more notice. Your appointment will be rescheduled.
However, cancellation with less than 72 hours notice or non-attendance of an appointment is liable for the full fee for that appointment.
