Breaking the Negativity Bias
We all have an innate bias to spot and remember negative events much more easily than the positive ones. In Psychology this is known as the negativity bias. The negativity bias affects our attention, how we learn and retain or recall information, the conclusions we come to when evaluating peoples’ behaviour and our decision-making.
Shame & Guilt: “Let us introduce ourselves”
Shame and guilt are both powerful emotions; but what is the difference? Shame-ammunition is loaded with the poison of self-doubt. This will lead to reduced resiliency for further attacks and the wounds from previous attacks heal much slower. But guilt can play an important role in accepting ourselves.
Loneliness: “Let me introduce myself”
I am the emotion, being alone is describing a situation. When you are surrounded by people you can still feel lonely, even though you are not alone. And when you are alone I don’t necessarily come and visit you. When you are alone you may meet me, loneliness, but just as often humans can feel happy and content when they are alone. So please do not say that we are the same.
What to expect from the first 6 sessions
Starting therapy for the first time, or meeting a new therapist can be daunting, especially for children and young people. I strive to provide a safe, warm and compassionate environment for my clients—an environment that allows them to be open and honest, free from judgement, pressure or stress.
LGBTQIA — my story, my passion, my pride
My experiences lit a passion in me to develop my practice as a psychologist to help LGBTQIA+ young people who may share some of the challenges or concerns I faced. Through my own therapeutic journey I have learned to love myself and to be proud of who I am and what I have achieved. I want the same for every child or young person I work with.
Why sleep is so important for mental health, and how to get a good night’s sleep
Even though it is not exactly know what the precise function of sleep is everyone agrees that sleep is essential and serves a restorative purpose. Our mind and our body, they both need sleep.
People suffering from Anorexia Nervosa deserve better!
Anorexia nervosa (AN) is about so much more than loosing weight, looking skinny, or constantly being on a diet. It is much more complex than that. Anorexia does not discriminate. Anorexia affects not only females but also increasingly males, it can affect people from all ethnicities and different social classes.
Depression
I believe that Depression is one of the nastiest mental health disorders. Partly because of the symptoms it comes with but also because Depression is significantly underestimated by the general population as well as mental health services.
ADHD/ADD - why medication is only half the story
Medication is often the first line of treatment as it provides a quick fix. This is not wrong, however, ADD/ADHD encompasses so much more and the symptoms of ADD/ADHD result in much more impairment than most people know of.
Let’s play a game! The roll of play in therapy.
Play is an important part of my approach to integrative therapy. For children free play is a way with which they communicate, they can face new experiences, process events, try and learn new ways of thinking and feeling as well as practice new behaviours.
Why I work with young people
I strongly believe that childhood and adolescence should be characterised by carefreeness and happiness. I believe that young people should be able to enjoy this time of their lives to the fullest. Growing up is all about finding out what you like, what you’re good at and finding out who you are, who you want to be.
Tips for positive play time
Evidence-based tips for positive play time. But the most important tip is this one: let go and have tons of fun!

I specialise in working with 6-25 year olds in the neurodivergent and/or LGBTQ+ communities, and have significant experience working with children, young people and adults with diagnoses of ADHD, autism, or struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria and more.
As an integrative therapist I am able to draw on a number of different models to flexibly adapt my approach.

Fees are set at £110 per 50 minute session.
If you have private healthcare insurance, you may be able to claim the cost against your policy. Please check with your provider.
Concessionary fees may be available upon request, depending on availability.
-
I endeavour to accommodate new and prospective clients within the shortest timeframe possible. However, during busy periods, I may operate a waiting list system.
Usually, I expect to be able to take on new clients within 2-6 weeks of enquiry, which allows sufficient time for you to complete the necessary intake paperwork prior to the first session.
If I’m not able to offer an immediate slot, I will do my best to provide an accurate estimate as to my availability at the time of your enquiry.
ADHD Assessments - Children & Adults
-
In order to maximise efficiency and to minimise costs for clients the diagnostic process is split into two parts: an initial screening; followed by a full assessment if the screening results indicate that a diagnosis of ADHD is likely to be given. You can dultsfind out more about the assessment process here:

In order to minimise costs for clients, the diagnostic process is split into two parts.
Stage One (Screening) costs £350. This includes all correspondence with the clinic at any point during working hours, any short phone calls or check-ins, a copy of the QbCheck results as well as immediate feedback of the outcome of the initial assessment.
Stage Two (Assessment) costs £700. This includes analysis of all questionnaire data, conducting the parent appointment, the cost of the full diagnostic report as well as all correspondence with the clinic at any point during working hours, any short phone calls or check-ins.
-
I currently have good availability to conduct assessments, and am usually able to commence the first stage appointment within 2-4 weeks of enquiry. This allows time for you to complete the necessary intake paperwork prior to the initial appointment, as it’s important you provide as full and detailed a picture as possible.
Having made your enquiry, you will receive an email detailing next steps, including an appointment booking link. This allows you to view all available appointment times and schedule in a time and date that work best for you.
